NLC employees to go on indefinite strike

NLC employees to go on indefinite strike from 3rd July, 2013, against

                                                                                                 disinvestment.

The Joint Action Committee of the trade unions of NLC (Neyveli Lignite Corporation), has given call for indefinite strike from 03.07.2013, against the decision of the Central Government to disinvest it's shares in this Navaratna PSU. The tripartite talks held yesterday, to avert the strike has failed. It has become certain now, that the indefinite strike will start as scheduled. As a prelude to the strike, the NLC employees wore black badges yesterday. Gate meetings are being conducted today and tomorrow. On 02.07.2013, there will be a massive hunger strike. Meanwhile, a proposal made by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, that 5% shares of NLC could be sold to the State Government organisations, was flatly rejected by the JAC. BSNLEU congratulates the trade unions of NLC, who had taken a firm position against disinvestment. It also conveys its revolutionary greetings to the NLC employees, who are on a warpath against the disastrous policy of privatisation of the UPA government.
