BSNL Employees Union (CHQ),

Meeting with Higher Power Committee on the issue of Superannuation Benefits of Directly Recruited Employees.
A meeting of Forum leaders with the members of the Higher Power Committee, on the issue of the Superannuation benefits of the directly recruited employees was held today in the Corporate Office. Convener, Forum and the representatives of BSNLEU, NFTE, SNEA and AIBSNLEA participated in the meeting. Com. P. Abhimanyu, GS, insisted upon the following points, on behalf of BSNLEU.
i)        As per DPE letters dated 26.11.2008, 02.04.2009 and 24.01.2013, all PSUs, including BSNL, should contribute 30% of pay + DA towards the superannuation benefits of it’s employees. This is already implemented in all major PSUs.
ii)      BSNL is already contributing 18% of the pay + DA, towards EPF, Gratuity and PRMB (Post Retirement Medical Benefits). Hence, the remaining 12% (30% - 18%) should compulsorily be contributed towards the pension fund of the employees.
iii)    The proposal of the Management that it could only contribute 2% towards pension fund, on the plea that the Company is in loss and also that it will yield 50% of the last pay drawn as pension, are not acceptable to the BSNLEU.

iv)   There will be major industrial unrest in BSNL, if the Management refuses to implement the Government orders in respect of superannuation benefits.

]Provide free SIM card to all the Non-Executives.
Com. P. Abhimanyu, GS, met shri Adhir Kumar Singhal, who had recently assumed charge in the Corporate Office as GM (Admn.). In the discussion, the GS demanded that
(i)        BSNL should issue free SIM card to the Non-Executives working in indoor and offices also.
(ii)       Connectivity to the customers of other net works as well as to the CUG of Executives should be provided.
(iii)    The meetings of BSNL Welfare Board and BSNL Sports and Cultural Board, which are not held for long, should be held without further delay. The GM (Admn.) assured to do the needful.
