We , the representative
of contract workers of Tirunelveli SSA , take this opportunity for conveying our
heartful gratitude to the Tirunelveli
District Administration for granting
a chance to put forth the grievances of Contract workers for your personal
attention. We are bringing the various
problems for your kind attention and early favourable settlement in the
capacity of Principal Employer
1.
The tender for Man power supply for Cable maintenence work which has been called during June 2015 may be finalised and implemented at the earliest
2.
Payment of Wages to the contract labourers may be made
through Bank as per the instructions of Circle Office.
3.
Arrears of wages to the contract labourers from 20-05-2009
may be paid as per the Circle Office letter dated 26-06-2015
4.
Wage slip may be issued
to contract labourers by the Contractors as per the Labour laws.
5.
Employment card may be issued to all contract labourers by
the Contractors as per instruction of Coprorate office.
6.
Overtime Allowance may be granted to Contract labourers who
have been engaged more than eight hours per day and 48 hours duty per week as per Indian labour laws.
7.
It is requested that an Executive may be earmarked to redress the genuine grievances of
contract workers.
8.
Lakhs of rupees are
being incurred as expenditure towards the payment of EPF to the Contract
labourers. It is doubted that that whether
the amount has been properly spent by the contractors to the welfare of
contract labourers. An Enquiry may may be conductd by the Vigilant officer to
find out whether EPF amount has ben properly credited by the Contractors to the accounts of Contact
labourers.
9.
Contractors may be suitabley instructed to issue E Pass book
as per the Circle office letter dated 25-06-2015
10.
It may be ensured that Universal Account Number may be
activitated to all the Contract labourers
11.
Necessary action may be issued to issue ESI card to all
contract labourers
We
hope that the district administration will take appropriate positive action for
settlement of genuine demands of downtrodden workers of BSNL organisation in
the capacity of Principal Employer.
